Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, recently discussed the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s ongoing initiatives aimed at combating corruption and enhancing transparency within Ghana’s political framework during an interview on GHOne TV.
Mogtari disclosed that the NDC has launched the Oral Witness and Records (ORAL) platform, a new initiative designed to collect evidence, safeguard witnesses, and provide a channel for citizens to report information about corruption. She underscored that this platform is an integral component of a comprehensive strategy to illustrate the NDC’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability.
“ORAL’s purpose is straightforward—collect and preserve evidence, protect witnesses, and create a platform for citizens to share information,” Mogtari explained.
“This is part of a broader strategy to ensure the government demonstrates its commitment to fighting corruption during the transition period.”
Her remarks highlight the NDC’s dedication to establishing mechanisms that foster transparency and accountability. The platform represents not merely a reactive approach but a proactive effort to fortify Ghana’s democratic processes and ensure that corruption is not tolerated in public office.
