The People’s National Convention (PNC) firmly believes that it will win 26 seats in Parliament.
Although the political party is supporting John Dramani Mahama in his bid for the 2024 presidential election, they are also assuring their parliamentary candidates of their full backing.
At an event announcing the decision to support John Dramani Mahama’s bid for a second presidential term, the PNC’s national leadership assured its parliamentary candidates of its commitment to helping them achieve victory in the upcoming election.
The unsuccessful flagbearer of the party, Bernard Mornah, stated at an event, “The parliamentary candidates that we have across the country, the party will continue to support them. We are hopeful that we will win, if not all, of the 26 that we have filed to be fully represented in the 2024/2025 Parliament. This declaration sits well with all of us.”
Ghana will go to the polls on December 7 to elect new leaders to guide the nation’s affairs.
The opposition NDC is optimistic about winning because the people of Ghana typically allow political parties only eight years to govern.
However, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is confident in its ability to retain power by making history as the first political party to break the eight-year cycle that has characterized political transitions in the West African country.
