Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Omane Boamah has strongly warned the electoral commission against automatically changing the placement of names on the ballot papers.
The Ghana Freedom Party has been granted ten days by the Electoral Commission to choose a candidate for the 2024 elections, according to a statement released.
The statement pointed out the lack of constitutional due process in addressing issues related to the death of a presidential candidate.
This statement stated that the printing of ballot papers was halted until the Ghana Freedom Party selected a candidate.
However, Dr Omane Boamah responded to the EC’s announcement by stating that the Ghana Freedom Party would not agree to a reordering of the flagbearers on the ballot, regardless of the EC’s decisions.
According to mynewsgh, his post shared via social media said “Electoral Commission Ghana, we shall not accept automatic re-arrangement of positions on the ballot!
Just note it and keep it holy!”
