WESLEY GRAMMAR SCHOOL BUS CARRING 88 PASSENGERS CATCHES FIRE AT KASOA TOLLBOOTH
A swift evacuation prevented tragedy as 83 students and 5 teachers safely exited the vehicle moments before it was engulfed in flames while en route to a sports competition.

A major disaster was averted on Friday, November 28, when a Wesley Grammar School bus carrying 83 students and five teachers caught fire at the Kasoa Tollbooth, with all occupants managing to escape unharmed.
The bus was transporting the students to a sporting event at Ngleshie Amanfro Senior High School when the incident occurred. According to Richard Boafo, a sports teacher who was accompanying the students, smoke was noticed emanating from the vehicle, prompting immediate evacuation.
“We noticed smoke coming out of the bus, so we asked all the students to move out immediately,” Mr. Boafo told Citi News. “Fortunately, all 83 students and five teachers on board escaped safely, but the bus was completely burnt to ashes.”
The quick thinking of the teachers and compliance of the students prevented what could have been a tragic outcome. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire, which broke out shortly after the evacuation.
Emergency services responded to the scene, and an investigation is expected to determine the cause of the fire. School authorities have commended the staff and students for their calm response during the emergency.
