‘WE’VE HEARD YOU MR. PRESIDENT BUT WE’RE STILL ON STRIKE’— NAGRAT Prez Carbonu Insists

The protesting pre-tertiary teachers have asked the administration for better dialogue before they resume their strike action.

The government needs to provide them something useful in exchange for their demands, according to NAGRAT president Angel Carbonu, in order to put an end to the protest.

“For now, we are hoping that our members will hear from us and decide to call off the strike. We are still on strike and have not canceled it,” he said.

Additionally, President Akufo-Addo urged teachers’ unions to call off their strike for this year’s national prayers for Edul Adha while we awaited the completion of the ongoing deliberations (the Day of Atonement).

Akufo-Addo asserts that the current economic crisis puts statehood in jeopardy.
