Dancehall and Reggae musician, Stonebwoy is not happy about the so-called cedi appreciation against the dollar because it hasn’t yet been reflected in everyday prices, which skyrocketed when the cedi was doing poorly on the trading market.
According to a recent article on the cedi, the value of the Ghanaian currency has increased by more than 20% in less than a week when compared to other major currencies, particularly the US dollar.
Since the cedi began to strengthen against the major world currencies, particularly its well-known “nemesis,” the dollar, it appears that the high cost of living in the nation has not yet been reflected in the currency, and Stonebwoy wants to know why.
Why be say Dollar rates leveling down nicely.. but prices of goods and services no dey gree to level with it.. You dey feel am?? – Stonebwoy tweeted.
