‘WHY PUNISH THE WHOLE COUNTRY LIKE THIS? – Afia Schwarzenegger Reacts To Chef Smith’s ‘Fake’ GWR Certification

After questioning the validity of Chef Smith’s certificate and Guinness World Records debunking his achievement claim, Ghanaian actress and socialite Afia Schwarzenegger publicly expressed her deep disappointment in him.

In a widely distributed email during the criticism, GWR stated that they were not aware of Smith’s try and he had not provided any proof for validation prior to asserting his record.

GWR confirmed that Alan Fisher from Ireland holds the record for the longest individual cooking marathon, which lasted 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds in Matsue, Japan, from September 28 to October 3, 2023.

Additionally, Afia Schwarzenegger pointed out differences between Smith’s GWR certificate and those given to former record holders, labelling it a major disgrace for the nation.

“You have embarrassed Ghanaians because Guinness World Records stated they have no record of you or your claim. What communication did you receive from them that you have yet to disclose? What documentation did Guinness provide that you cannot produce to this day? What offense have we committed for you to disgrace the entire nation like this?” she remarked.

Chef Smith was arrested for fraud after revealing his fake Guinness World Records certification during a press conference.

In response to that situation, Afia Schwarzenegger has promised to personally request the Ghana Police Service to make sure that the person continues to be held in custody.

“Yesterday, you caused chaos throughout the country. I will personally petition the Ghana Police Service about you. They should keep you in custody,” she added.
