WIYAALA TO BE ORDAINED PARAMOUNT QUEEN MOTHER OF FUNSI

Ghanaian music icon to assume traditional authority in Upper West Region; ceremony to coincide with Pulung Festival with major musical performances.

Ghanaian music star and cultural icon Wiyaala is set to be formally ordained as the Paramount Queen Mother of the Funsi Traditional Area in a landmark ceremony scheduled for January 17, 2026.

The enstoolment represents a rare fusion of contemporary artistic influence and ancient traditional authority, underscoring the celebrated singer’s dual role as both a national entertainer and a community leader in her hometown.

The ceremony will coincide with the annual Pulung Festival, the cultural showcase of the Funsi people, featuring vibrant music, dance, rituals, and heritage displays. The celebration will include live performances from notable artists including Samson B, Gally, Iron Bwoy, Apaco, Saadia, F-Bwoy, and The Yagayagas, with Wiyaala herself headlining the program.
