YOU CAN BE DECENT AND STILL LOOK GOOD”— Gospel Musician, Ceccy Twum To Youth

Award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer, Ceccy Twum, has voiced worry over Ghana’s youth’s increasing moral deterioration.

In an interview with 3Music TV, she cited drug misuse and obscene clothing as concerning tendencies that jeopardise social norms.

The vocalist of “Waye Awaie” expressed her sadness at how many young people chose to express themselves through fashion, emphasising that style is not diminished by modesty.

“It’s very heartbreaking when you see the youth using drugs and dressing inappropriately. I love fashion, but you will never see me dressed indecently,” Twum stated.

She continued by saying that she frequently wishes she could personally reach out and mentor some young people based on their behaviour on social media.

“Sometimes, when I’m on social media and see those kinds of things, I wish I could get close to the person and talk to them… to show them that the way they are going is not the right way,” she said.

Twum emphasized that modesty can coexist with beauty and confidence and urged young people to combine elegance and decency.

“I mean, you can look good without revealing your breasts or waistline. You can look good and also look decent,” she averred.
