‘YOU CAN’T TELL ME HOW TO RUN MY SHOW, THIS IS MY OFFICE’ – Delay Replies Critics

Media personality, Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay has reacted to the claim that she is progressively becoming less relevant by speaking with guests who fall short of expectations.

Many opponents, among them well-known Ghanaian socialite Showboy, recently flaunted this claim on social media following the viral success of Delay’s interview with “Snapchat slay queen” Dulcie Boateng.

Showboy asserted that Delay deviated from his usual standards by interviewing someone such as Dulcie, citing the history of “The Delay Show’s” “guest seat,” which has welcomed a diverse array of luminaries, including seasoned politicians.

However, Delay responded to her critics a few weeks following this occurrence.

Delay insisted that no one may give her instructions on how to run the show, even though she made it obvious that she alone has the authority to select her guests.

In response to her detractors, the broadcaster stated in her opening remarks that no one is superior to another and that everyone should have equal access to chances.

“These days you see and hear people, I mean just anybody on social media, advising me on how to run my show. They want to tell me who to invite and who not to. I want to speak on that issue.

“I want to tell such people that this is my office and that they cannot tell me what to do. Nobody is better than the other in this world. You can’t tell me not to invite people who you think are unimportant to the show,” she fumed.

Delay recalled her experiences as an “outcast” at Aburi Girls Senior High School, even as she denounced the practice of elevating some people over others.

She claimed that only for living in the Eastern region’s Nkawkaw, she was shunned by her peers and called a “Village girl” in school.

“I remember when I was admitted to Aburi Girls, I was told I was from Nkawkaw so I was tagged a village girl. I was nearly not given the chance to be admitted among the people they thought were better than me. When I go to social gatherings like entertainment, I will be always sacked. Look at me now, I’m now the entertainment prefect,” she said.

On the other hand, she stated that all people should be given the same opportunities in life.

“Let’s give everyone the chance because nobody knows what might happen tomorrow. Maybe the person who you don’t want to see on my show might one day take my place as the next ‘entertainment prefect’,” Delay stated.
