Member of Parliament for Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has unleashed a scathing attack on Dome Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo over reports that she is holding the government to ransom.
Speaking on GBC’s Breakfast Show on Monday, February 21, 2022, Mr. Agyapong said her purported request to be made the Deputy Majority Leader, a position she served in the previous Parliament, smacked of a lack of ambition.
“She is saying she wants to be a deputy Majority Leader. That woman has failed in life. A whole cabinet minister [for Gender, Children and Social Protection] now demanding that she should be made a deputy Majority Leader before she comes [to Parliament]. You don’t come to Parliament and you are on TikTok dancing… Dome Kwabenya is not for [your father] Apostle Kwadwo Safo.”
Other members of the NPP have also accused the Dome Kwabenya MP of sabotaging the party. A Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Michael Kofi Okyere Baafi, said her continuous absence in Parliament was making government business in the chamber difficult.
This is against the backdrop of the government’s attempts to pass the controversial E-Levy bill.
