Brother Sammy, a Gospel musician from Ghana, has sparked debate by recommending that couples should have sex before marriage to prevent surprises later on.
He suggests that partners should have a complete understanding of one another, including their sexual compatibility, before entering into a long-term relationship.
“You have to try it; you have to taste it! You need to experience what you’re going to be entangled with for the rest of your life,” he stated in an interview with Abeiku Santana.
Abeiku, who expressed shock at Brother Sammy’s statements, said, “I am so upset and disappointed that a gospel artiste would say this.”
In response, Brother Sammy defended his stance, saying, “You don’t want the truth.”
When asked if such opinions are appropriate for a Holy Spirit-filled gospel musician to express, he replied, “No matter how filled I am with the Holy Spirit, I still live in the real, practical world. I will come back to the physical and face life.”
The ‘Nations Worshiper’ also supported putting childbirth before marriage, stating that children are more likely to stay with their parents than partners.
“I will advise the youth to opt for childbirth instead of marriage. Unlike marriage, the benefits of having kids are endless. Your children are not likely to abandon you someday, but your partner might,” he stated.
