Well-known Ghanaian social media influencer, Elorm Ama Ababio, also known as Ama Governor, was arrested today at the 37 military hospital along with other demonstrators for disturbing the public.
During the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest over the weekend, Ama Governor and several other demonstrators were detained and brought to court today.
While being arrested, Ama asked the police officers why they felt the need to put a 26-year-old in handcuffs for protesting against Galamsey activities that have affected the water system in many regions.
The areas impacted by illegal mining have experienced numerous challenges and difficulties as a result. Due to the activities, obtaining drinkable water has become nearly unattainable.
Ama Governor and other protesters were compelled to organize a demonstration against the practice due to the lack of response from the Government and other leaders in the country.
Regrettably, they suffered a hefty consequence for their behavior.
