Rapper Sarkodie has been active in the music scene for more than ten years and is a very reliable performer.
He claims that the enthusiasm the new talents in the industry combine is one of the things that has kept him on his toes.
During an interview for Afrobeats Concerto, a program produced by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Radio 1Xtra, Sarkodie disclosed this information.
Sarkodie was interviewed about his opinion of the fresh talents who have emerged in the music industry around the nation by Eddie Kadi, host of Black music and culture.
“It puts me on my toes,” he revealed, adding “and at the same time I have hope that what we built is going to be protected and it’s going to be there for a minute. So I am super proud to see all these superstars, I know that even when I retire, Afrobeats is going to be alive.
So big shouts to [all], especially the superstars coming out from my hometown GH [alias] Ghana.” He drew robust applause from the cosmopolitan audience. “I love Afrobeats. Afrobeats is the biggest genre out there right now.”
