Religious leader, Bishop Titi-Ofei has penned an open letter to President John Dramani Mahama, providing guidance and support as he commences his second term in office.
In his message, Bishop Titi-Ofei emphasizes the unique chance President Mahama has to guide Ghana again and encourages him to approach leadership with intention.
“Few people are blessed with a second chance at such an influential role,” he writes.
“This moment is not just for politics, but for purpose—a chance to reshape the future of our nation and leave a lasting legacy.”
He continues by stressing the importance of humility in leadership. “I encourage you not to demonize your predecessor but to acknowledge his successes and build on the foundations he laid,” Bishop Titi-Ofei advises.
“Leadership is not about competition; it’s about service. Correct past mistakes with humility and grace. When we lead with integrity, we build trust among all Ghanaians.”
Bishop Titi-Ofei encourages President Mahama to prioritize enhancing the well-being of the country’s most at-risk individuals.
“The heart of any nation is found in how it treats its most vulnerable citizens,” he writes. “The struggling farmer in the north, the market woman battling rising costs—these are the people who need your leadership the most. Listen to their cries and take bold action to lift them out of poverty.”
He emphasizes the need for sustainable change rather than temporary relief. “Create systems that empower entrepreneurs, industrialize, and invest in both urban and rural areas.
“Job creation, support for SMEs, and investing in agriculture are key,” he says. “Your leadership must focus on creating opportunities that will endure for generations to come.”
In conclusion, Bishop Titi-Ofei encourages the President to shape his legacy through real, beneficial changes in the lives of the people rather than through speeches.
“The true measure of leadership is not in the titles you hold, but in the impact you have on the people you serve,” he writes. “Lead with empathy, wisdom, and vision, and you will leave behind a nation united and prosperous.”
