Rex Omar, a Ghanaian musician, believes that the Electoral Commission’s decision not to conduct a forensic audit of the voters’ register indicates that they are concealing something.
The loyal National Democratic Congress (NDC) member claimed that the placement of certain New Patriotic Party (NPP) card-carrying members in the EC demonstrates their intention to manipulate the elections.
“The Electoral Commission has illegally transferred the names of some people and so we said they should allow an independent body to do a forensic audit,” he said on Cape Coast’s Property FM.
“So that after the elections there won’t be any violence and we all will accept the results in good faith but they have vowed that they won’t allow it.
“We have witnessed here in Ghana that Akufo-Addo has recruited card-bearing NPP members into the Electoral Commission including Bossman Asare which we all know.
“What are they hiding at the electoral commission that they don’t want to do the forensic audit and what underhand dealings are they conniving with NPP”, he fumed.
