Mohammed Zakou, an NPP activist, got picked up for a social media post where he told the Vice President to “rest well” after news broke that Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was receiving medical care in the UK.
Some took it the wrong way, but Zakou’s lawyer, Enoch Afoakwa, says the guy meant no harm.
According to him, “rest well” simply means just that — rest well, not rest in peace.
He told Asempa FM, “Google it. Rest well doesn’t mean negativity. He was praying for her.”
Zakou, who is said to be the bodyguard of former vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, was arrested on April 12 over a controversial Facebook post.
The post suggested that Jane Naana was dead, writing, “Rest Well Her Excellency,” accompanied by crying emojis.
