Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that the upcoming elections offer a distinct option between a builder of the nation and an unsuccessful economist.
During a press briefing recorded by mynewsgh, Gyamfi stressed that the upcoming elections in Ghana will be calm, yet crucial for citizens to choose between H.E. John Dramani Mahama, seen as an economic stabilizer, and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, blamed for the economic downfall due to overborrowing.
Gyamfi stated that the nation is at a crucial point and needs a significant reset, not violence, to tackle its economic problems. His claim was that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government had let down Ghanaians and inflicted considerable suffering on the people.
He called on voters to support H.E. Mahama, emphasizing his successful experience in managing the economy and his skill in bringing back stability.
“This election is a choice between the nation-builder, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the failed economist, Alhaji Bawumia,” Gyamfi declared.
He stated, “It is a choice between President Mahama, who left a solid economy with a stable credit rating of B-, sustainable public debt, and strong economic buffers, and the failed economist, Alhaji Bawumia, who has borrowed Ghana into bankruptcy and presided over the near-collapse of the economy.”
