GHANA POLICE RESCUES 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL KIDNAPPED IN THE ASHANTI REGION

The Ghana Police Service has freed an 11-year-old girl who was held hostage in Kumasi by two unidentified men.

The victim, a pupil at Akrofuom Primary School, was discovered with her wrists bound and her eyes blindfolded in a room of an incomplete Methodist church in Akrofuom, in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality.

A nearby homeowner heard the girl murmuring within the building and alerted the police, who came to the girl’s aid.

According to the authorities, her captors kept her in the incomplete building with the intention of extracting her after dusk, when the town would be entirely dark.

The youngster claims that two men she met on her way home from school on Thursday, July 28, 2022, kidnapped her.

Her parents tried everything to save her, but it was in vain.

She was shackled to her hands and mouth and confined inside the incomplete building.

Fortunately, someone walking by at around 6:45 heard the girl murmuring and stopped to look into the building to see what was going on.

The officials say that an investigation has started in an endeavor to find the two kidnappers.

The girl was sent to Toase Government Hospital for treatment after being saved.
