The senior national team the Black Stars reveal that Ghana’s clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria may not be played in Ghana according to recent reports.
Renowned sports journalist and radio broadcaster, Saddick Adams aka Sports Obama made this known on his social media page and according to him FIFA is not impressed with the photo of the pitch at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium the National Sports Authority sent to them.
Meanwhile, Nigeria has reportedly alerted FIFA that the pitch is still in a bad situation, prompting a review from the football world giving body. And if the pitch turns out to be below standard, Ghana would host Nigeria on a neutral ground probably Morocco or Benin.
“NEWS FLASH: FIFA has warned that Ghana may have to choose btn Morocco & Benin to host Nigeria in the first leg of the #WCQ2022.
I’m told Nigeria filed a petition at FIFA with pictures of the poor Cape Coast pitch posted by the official handle of the NSA.
CAF officials will conduct final inspection of Cape Coast tomorrow.
Unless they’re wholly convinced with the state of the pitch, the Ghana vs Nigeria will be hosted in one of the aforementioned countries.”
