“I’M VERY HAPPY BLACK STARS ARE GOING TO WORLD CUP IN MY REGIME” – Akufo Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is pleased with the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifying.

On Tuesday, March 29, the squad drew 1-1 with the Nigerian Super Eagles at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium to qualify.

Ghana qualified through the away goals rule after a 0-0 draw in Kumasi on March 25.

President Akufo-Addo congratulated the team on their achievement on Wednesday at the Jubilee House.

He urged the technical staff to stay together and asked GFA President Kurt Okraku to retain them until the World Cup in November before signing a long-term deal.

President Akufo-Addo says he was in Abuja on a formal assignment when he saw the Nigerians’ uneasiness.

He stated the Nigerians wanted to win in Ghana before the second leg because losing would be terrible at home.

He promised them a “special package” as a “thank you and recognition”. The players will return to their clubs tonight
