ECG CUTS POWER SUPPLY AT D BLACK’S NIGHTCLUB OVER ALLEGED ILLEGAL CONNECTION

The power supply to D. Black’s Oasis Pool and Shisha Lounge has been shut off by a task group from Ghana’s Electricity Company.

The energy supply to the venue, which also houses the rapper’s Club Onyx nightclub, was cut off on Wednesday due to power theft, according to sources.

The National Taskforce of ECG nabbed operators of the nightlife establishment located just outside the police headquarters in Accra for unlawfully using power by evading the ECG meter.

According to Citi News, the theft happened over a period of time. According to Ghanaweb, “ECG has subsequently given notice to the managers of Oasis Pool and Shisha Lounge to report to its headquarters for additional interrogation following the discovery,” according to Citi News.

The facility’s supervisors have been given the notice to report to their office for further questioning.

The disconnect is part of ECG’s revenue task force’s efforts to recover debts owing to the firm and cut off supplies to delinquent customers, including governmental entities.
