Gospel Artist and reigning VGMA ‘Artist of the Year’ Diana Hamilton, has addressed the subject of church instrumentalists being compensated.
In an interview with Doctar Cann on Happy FM’s Saturday morning entertainment program, Showbiz Xtra, monitored by Ghbase she simply said “The worker is worth their compensation”, thereby supporting the move.
She said that if someone does this for a job and the church hires them to perform during services, they are worth paying.
“As the Bible says, the idle hand shall not eat. She said, “How will the instrumentalist eat if you manage a church and expect him to be there every day but don’t pay him?”
If he arrives to church without looking nice, you will complain about his looks, therefore if he works as an instrumentalist in the church, you must pay him so he can fend for himself,” Diana said. He has devoted himself to God’s job, but he needs your aid to accomplish it successfully.
It’s easy to underestimate instrumentalists, since people think they’re just sitting there playing whatever they want.
It’s crucial to evaluate everything, even the amount of times you require him to minister. My father used to remark that a good church had an excellent message, praise, prayer, and sound.
The vocalist decided that instrumentalists are an integral element of a good church and should be compensated for their efforts to keep them motivated.
