JOJO WOLLACOT WAS THERE WHEN WE NEEDED HIM THE MOST – Ghana Coach Otto Addo Praises Young Chap

Ghana coach Otto Addo has heaped praises on Black Stars’ number one keeper Jojo Wollacot who pulled some incredible saves in Abuja to keep Ghana’s chances of going to the World Cup intact.

The young chap who faced massive criticisms after Ghana’s disastrous campaign in Cameroon during the last Afcon justified himself when he performed creditably well in the two-legged match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the sole ticket to Qatar.

Otto Addo while talking to the media after the grueling encounter at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium where they held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw, expressed his excitement over the win saying, “I’m really delighted, exhausted, it was a tough match and we fought our way through,” he told Multimedia reporters.

“We had big big problems, especially in the first half, and through some changes, the players gave their tactics very well, and still they (the Nigerians) had some good chances.”

He then singled out Wollacot for his impressive performance;

“Our goalkeeper was there when we needed him and we had a little bit of lunch also because if you see the chances the Nigerians were better. I feel a bit pity for them but this is a football, sometimes and we fought our way through”, he added.
