TESTIFY IN COURT WITHOUT THE FACE MASK – Supreme Court orders Anas Aremeyaw Anas

Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas must testify in the case against former Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi based on his documentary titled “Number 12,” which exposes corruption in Ghana football, without any preference from the Supreme Court of Ghana.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, a Supreme Court presided over by Justice Baffoe-Bonnie issued the decision.

He is most likely prohibited from donning a full mask in public under the order.

Mr. Nyantakyi appealed the High Court’s decision to the Supreme Court in an effort to contest it.

Mr. Nyantakyi is being tried for allegedly participating in corruption, as seen in the film, but the High Court has decided that Anas may testify in secret during the trial.

In response to Mr. Nyantakyi’s appeal to the Supreme Court, the court ruled that the investigative journalists were not entitled to any preferential treatment.

As a reminder, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, better known as Anas, is a Ghanaian investigative journalist born in the late 1970s.

He utilizes his anonymity as a tool in his investigative journalism work. Anas is a politically non-aligned multimedia journalist who specializes in print media and documentaries
