Ghanaian singer, socialite and presenter, Sister Derby has taken a swipe at the current Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Bagbin over his reaction to the letter from the Office of the Presidency to Parliament.
As reported earlier, Alban Bagbin, reaffirmed his commitment to safeguard Ghana’s sovereignty and uphold its democratic principles amidst potential government interference.
This firm stance follows a directive from President Akufo-Addo, dated March 18, 2024, instructing Parliament not to transmit the anti-LGBTQ bill for his approval.
In a Facebook post, Speaker Bagbin unequivocally stated, “The Parliament of Ghana under my leadership will resist any attempts to undermine our democracy.
Commenting on this, Sister Derby frowned at Alban Bagbin’s statement describing his behaviour as childish and disrespectful to President Akufo Addo.
When he passed this hate bill that goes against the Constitution of Ghana, did our President disrespect him like this? Current Speaker of Parliament’s behaviour can be described as childish and petty; “you took my toy, so I’m also taking yours.”
Disregarding a whole like of important issues to be discussed in Parliament, that will actually benefit Ghana.
