GHANAIAN YOUTHS ARE FLEEING THE COUNTRY BECAUSE OF SEVERE ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS – Rashad

After a troubling report about a jobless college graduate who has threatened to commit suicide by the end of August if his situation doesn’t get better.

Renowned Ghanaian blogger and vlogger, Rashad, has shared his thoughts on the matter, bringing attention to the wider challenges that the country’s young people are dealing with.

In the latest Rash Hour show on GhPage, Rashad highlighted that the large number of Ghanaian youth leaving the country is directly related to the serious economic challenges it is facing.

He made the case that young Ghanaians prefer to use their skills and efforts abroad, as they think they have a higher likelihood of enjoying the benefits of their work.

“Ghanaian youths are hardworking,” Rashad asserted. “But they are rewarded with peanuts here. Look at our GHS18 daily minimum wage, which is just $22. It’s no wonder they are leaving in droves.”

Rashad voiced strong worry about the brain drain problem, emphasizing that Ghana is losing its top talents to the West.

Many young Ghanaians are being pushed to look for opportunities overseas due to the current economic situation characterized by high levels of unemployment and low wages, in the hopes of finding improved prospects and fair pay for their hard work.
