Ghanaian actor John Peasah, also known as Drogba from the well-known TV show “YOLO,” has recently created a GoFundMe campaign to ask for financial support for his current medical care.
Drogba has been fighting against an uncommon neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), which has also impacted famous singer Celine Dion.
Throughout the last couple of months, Drogba has been sharing brief videos with his fans to update them on his health progress, showing how serious his condition is.
His condition has deteriorated, and he is now facing issues such as sleep apnea, necessitating the use of an oxygen mask for assistance with breathing
The money collected will be used to cover the increasing expenses of his medical treatment, which have become too much to handle.
Giving updates on his health on his Instagram, Drogba wrote;
“I want to thank my family and friends(especially you guys), as well as the Vice President of Ghana, for the numerous donations and gifts I’ve received. Unfortunately, I’m not responding to treatment and have been spending almost all my resources, which are now almost depleted.
This fundraising effort is necessary to support my expensive treatment abroad, which includes specialized care from experts in pain medicine, physical therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, biofeedback, and nursing at the Pain Rehabilitation Center. Specifically, I need help covering the cost of admission, medical treatment, IVIG therapy (which is particularly expensive), or plasma exchange.”
