Former President, John Dramani Mahama has stated that if he becomes president in the upcoming 2024 general elections, he will prevent his family, including his wife and children, from acquiring state assets.
During the unveiling of the NDC’s manifesto at the University of Education, Winneba, he announced that his spouse and kids would be banned from purchasing government assets if elected in the 2024 elections.
He stated that other politically connected individuals, such as appointees, will also be barred from obtaining state assets.
He also stated that his upcoming administration will initiate a new probe into all unresolved cases.
“We will embark on a ruthless war against corruption. We will prohibit politically exposed persons, political appointees, and public officials from purchasing state assets. So, it’s not only me who cannot buy state assets; my wife and children cannot buy state assets because they are political persons.”
“Re-open investigations into major unresolved cases, including the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence, 2020 election killings, and Ahmed Suale killing.”
