Head Pastor of Alabaster International Ministries, and renowned Ghanaian prophet, Kofi Oduro has expressed his opinion on the extended lack of success for the Black Stars in winning a significant international championship.
During a sermon at his church, he claimed that the reason for the Black Stars’ failure was a spiritual problem. Prophet Oduro is puzzled by the team’s 40-year wait for an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title, given the talent in the squad.
Although they have made it to the finals three times after their 1982 win, the Black Stars have always been unsuccessful. Prophet Oduro believes that the team’s misfortune is linked to an alleged curse, pointing fingers at the team’s management for their role in it.
“When you stand before your enemies and you are defeated over a protracted period, it means there is something on your head that needs to be broken. Like the way the Black Stars stand before their enemies and continuously get defeated.
“You can never tell me there’s a blessing on the Black Stars. Tell the people who handle the Black Stars that there is a curse on their head. There is a curse on their head that needs to be broken. The team will be defeated and defeated until that curse is broken. All they know is to chop money,“ he said
Prophet Oduro made remarks as the Black Stars gear up for their next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier versus Niger, after a disappointing defeat to Angola in their first game.
He maintains that a substantial restructuring of the team’s leadership is crucial to break the alleged curse and revitalize Ghana’s footballing triumph.
