JOYCE BLESSING SHARES EXPERIENCE OF REJECTION FROM FELLOW GOSPEL ARTISTE

Ghanaian gospel musician Joyce Blessing has shed light on her decision to collaborate with secular artists, citing a disappointing encounter with a fellow gospel artiste who declined her request for a feature.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, the Heavy Price hitmaker revealed that secular artistes, despite the criticism they face, are often more approachable and willing to collaborate on music projects.

Joyce, who has worked with notable names like Becca, the late Jewel Ackah, Amerado, and King Paluta, recounted how one gospel artiste refused to team up with her, perceiving her as a competitor.

“I wanted a collaboration from one of my colleague gospel artists — I won’t mention names — but the person turned me down. I think the person felt I was a competitor, so he wouldn’t give me the feature,” she disclosed.

Despite the setback, Joyce Blessing has embraced working with secular artistes, pointing to the remix of her song Overdo with rapper Amerado and her current collaboration with King Paluta on the track Correct.

Looking ahead, she expressed her enthusiasm for collaborating with industry heavyweights like Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie, emphasizing her openness to creating music across genres.

Joyce’s experiences highlight her determination to push boundaries and foster inclusivity in the music industry, bridging the gap between gospel and secular music.
