Prominent Ghanaian politician and academician, Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, has requested the elimination of the practice where politicians go abroad for medical treatment.
As per Professor Akosa, it is disrespectful to Ghanaian doctors and healthcare workers when politicians choose to go overseas.
He mentioned that if politicians had to get treatment here when ill, they would put money into infrastructure to ensure our hospitals operate at peak efficiency.
Prof. Akosa expressed these views in a recent interview where he also addressed the matter of politicians and government officials sending their children to study overseas.
He stated that, similar to healthcare, these leaders ought to be required to educate their children in Ghana.
