Politician and businessman, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong reassured his supporters that he remains strong and committed, despite a US court ordering him to pay $18 million to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas for defamation.
Upon returning to Ghana on March 27, Agyapong spoke to a welcoming crowd at his campaign office in Shiashie.
The former Member of Parliament for Assin Central expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception given to him and his wife, highlighting their appreciation for such support.
“I want to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you for the wonderful welcome you have given me and my wife. This will inspire me to continue doing what I do—speaking for the voiceless,” he stated.
Addressing his followers, he urged them not to be worried about the court’s decision.
He emphasized that standing up for the truth often brings challenges and difficulties, but these should not deter them from their cause.
“Nobody should worry. Anyone who speaks the truth and stands for the voiceless will face challenges. But through this ordeal, I have become a better person, and I will continue to fight and defend the truth,” Agyapong assured.
