Renowned gospel artist Sonnie Badu has weighed in on the controversial prophecy by Prophet Eric Boahen concerning Ghana’s Vice President, Her Excellency Nana Joagyemang. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Badu cautioned prophets against “reckless” death prophecies, urging them to exercise wisdom and compassion.
The UK-based musician expressed dismay over recent trends where prophets publicly predict deaths, causing panic and grief. Referring to Boahen’s widely circulated prophecy about the Vice President’s health, Badu emphasized that true divine revelation should offer redemption, not fear.
“Dear major and minor prophets, there is something called the word of wisdom. Prophesying someone’s death does not make you powerful; rather, it makes you a prophet of doom,” he wrote. “Revelation without redemption is not God speaking.”
Badu, known for his spiritual depth, reminded clergymen that their words carry weight and affect real families. “I have seen prophets lose family members and how broken they were. Losing a loved one is no joke,” he added, calling for maturity in the prophetic ministry.
Addressing the Vice President directly, Badu dismissed the ominous prophecy and instead wished her a speedy recovery. “@njoagyemang—Mummy, get well soon. You gave your all during the campaign and haven’t rested. I am praying for you,” he wrote affectionately.
Prophet Eric Boahen’s prophecy, which circulated on social media, had claimed the Vice President was “in danger.” After an official statement which confirmed her health status, recently.
