“I OWE NO ONE EXPLANATION ABOUT MY BODY” – Gospel Musician Mavis Asante Claps Back At Surgery Rumors
Popular Ghanaian gospel singer Mavis Asante has strongly dismissed ongoing speculation about undergoing cosmetic procedures to alter her physique. The mother of three’s comments come amid growing public debate about her noticeably slimmer figure in recent public appearances.
In an interview with media personality Nayas, the vocalist firmly rejected suggestions she might have undergone liposuction or other body enhancement treatments. “I owe no one an explanation about my own body,” Asante stated emphatically.
The “Agya Woho” hitmaker attributed her physical appearance to natural factors, explaining: “That’s how my genes are – even my children have similar features. Yes, I’ve given birth three times, but I take good care of myself, especially watching what I eat.”
Asante’s remarks follow weeks of social media chatter questioning whether she had joined the growing trend of celebrities opting for cosmetic enhancements. Some fans had pointed to her flat stomach post-pregnancy as evidence of possible procedures.
The gospel artist used the opportunity to challenge prevailing beauty stereotypes, noting: “Just because someone else doesn’t have certain curves doesn’t mean every woman must look that way. We’re all different.”
This isn’t the first time a Ghanaian celebrity has faced public scrutiny over their physique. The entertainment industry has seen increasing cases of stars being questioned about potential cosmetic work in recent years.
Asante, known for hits like “Yesu Mo,” remains focused on her music career while navigating the challenges of public life. Her candid comments have reignited conversations about body positivity and the pressures female celebrities face regarding their appearance.
