The Ashanti Regional Minister’s plan to meet with actors, actresses, producers, and directors in an attempt to revitalize Kumawood has prompted a response from Kumawood actor Papa Kumasi.
The Ashanti Regional Minister’s discussions with the Kumawood industry stakeholders, according to the Kumawood actor/media personality, would not produce any fruitful outcomes.
Papa Kumasi said he has heard and witnessed the regional minister interacting with the industry stakeholders on multiple times in an interview with Rashad and King Asu B on Gh Page.
“I have seen them have a meeting on June 1. Kumawood people are meeting and all that. But the problem here is, can anyone attend the meeting, or is it limited to a few people?” Papa Kumasi questioned.
The actor continued by saying that many members of the business declined the regional minister’s invitation, claiming that they were too busy working on other vital projects.
Instead of concentrating on “irrelevant” discussions, he suggested that the leaders look at the reasons for the movie industry’s mitigation.
Papa Kumasi claims that despite the many meetings, the industry is still collapsing.
For this reason, he counselled the Ashanti Regional Minister to “walk the walk” and to put less effort into “irrelevant” meetings.
