The CEO of MTN Ghana, Stephen Blewett, has disclosed that the telecom giant must wait and undergo a procedure prior to removing the E-Levy from their systems.
His remark arises as President John Dramani Mahama has formally repealed multiple taxes, such as the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), Betting Tax, and Emissions Tax, by enacting new legislative bills.
“There’s a process that has to be followed,” he said while speaking at the MTN House in Accra on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
“I can’t abolish E-Levy until I’m told to do it. If I do it ahead of time, the Bank of Ghana will catch me,” he added.
