The musician’s body was found at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota on Thursday, according TMZ, after police were called there about a death.
Last week, Prince was reportedly hospitalized after an emergency plane landing because of illness. A rep told TMZ that Prince “has been fighting the flu for several weeks.”
According to the AP, the local Carver County chief sheriff’s deputy says that officials are witholding information about the identity of the deceased person until next of kin has been notified. A news release will come afterward.
Prince – full name Prince Rogers Nelson – was rushed to hospital six days ago with flu symptoms after his private plane made an emergency landing.
He made a final public appearance at a show on Sunday, where he did not sing, but said: ‘Wait a few days before you waste any prayers’
