CEDI GAINS SLIGHTLY, TRADING AT GH¢13.10 TO THE DOLLAR ON INTERBANK MARKET

Ghana's currency strengthens marginally against major international currencies amid market fluctuations.

Ghana’s currency, the cedi, has seen slight improvements against major foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar, on the interbank market.

According to the latest update from the Bank of Ghana, the cedi is currently trading at GH¢13.09 for buying and GH¢13.10 for selling against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the British pound stands at GH¢17.42 buying and GH¢17.44 selling, with the euro trading at GH¢14.74 buying and GH¢14.75 selling rates respectively.

However, checks by GhanaWeb Business on May 12, 2025, at major forex bureaus showed slightly higher rates, with the cedi trading at GH¢13.65 to the dollar, GH¢18.50 to the pound, and GH¢15.80 to the euro.

These developments indicate ongoing volatility in the currency market, prompting stakeholders to keep a close eye on daily fluctuations.
