CONSIDER YOUTUBE, IT’S WORKING IN NIGERIA – James Gardiner To Ghanaian Film Producers

Actor, James Gardiner is also embracing the concept that YouTube is currently the key to reviving the Ghanaian film industry.

The Ghanaian actor highlighted the crucial importance of social media platforms such as YouTube in propelling the development of the Ghanaian film industry.

During a recent discussion with media personality Doreen Avio, the “Taste of Sin” celebrity shared his worries about how some individuals in the industry don’t fully grasp the ways to effectively use these platforms for their advantage.

Gardiner characterized YouTube as a resource with untapped potential, emphasizing its ability to draw in millions of views and earn substantial income from just one video.

He remarked, “YouTube is an untapped place I feel people are not paying attention to, but the view of just one of the productions there clocks about 29 million views, and that should tell you African movies are going well.”

Gardiner emphasized that YouTube should not be dismissed, even with the importance of popular streaming services such as Netflix.

Gardiner, reflecting on his recent time in Nigeria, talked about how Nigerian TV channels quickly find movies on YouTube and make them big hits.

He stated, Work is good in Nigeria, and it’s not only Ghana that picks these movies. I feel it’s everywhere, and it’s even more Nigerians than Ghanaians. When a film drops on YouTube, in a matter of 20 to 30 minutes, other YouTube platforms, which I feel are predominantly based in Nigeria, pick it up and start showing it, hence bringing up the numbers as well.”

In spite of the obstacles, Gardiner stays positive regarding the outlook of the Ghanaian movie sector.

He believes that by remaining optimistic and putting in consistent hard work, the industry can not just survive but also prosper, leaving a significant influence at both local and global levels.
