CRIMINALS HAVE LOST BILLIONS – KSM On Why Gold Board Success Faces Resistance

Popular Ghanaian comedian and media personality. KSM has highlighted what he calls a quiet battle against recent financial changes, specifically the functioning of the recently activated Gold Board.

KSM, whose real name is Kwaku Sintim-Misa, claims that the Board’s initiatives have resulted in an impressive GH¢5.7 billion for the nation in just four months—a success he feels would have otherwise aided criminal organisations and international players.

“Do you think it’s easy how the cedi is appreciating amazingly?” KSM asked rhetorically, before urging Ghanaians to look beyond surface politics.

“You go and sit down with people who understand policies that are in place and the things that are now being done with the new gold board. Go and sit down with them and listen.”

He cautioned that the substantial income produced by the Board had interfered with illegal transactions that once profited smugglers and corrupt organizations.

“All that money would have been in somebody’s pocket,” he said. “Thanks to the gold board… all this money would have been leaked to Chinese, to Indians, to other nationals, to criminals.”

KSM indicates that some opposition is facing these reforms. He believes that those who once benefited from these corrupt systems are already strategising to recover their losses.

“Do you think they are sitting down quietly?” he asked.

“They are masterminding, they are planning. How do we get rid of this? How do we get things back our way, which was the wrong way?”

Presenting the scenario as a battle between advancement and established interests, KSM evoked a rising awareness of civic responsibility, especially among the youth.

“People are woke,” he said. “The millennials, their thinking is different. There’s more focus, there’s more direction and they are more and more and more resilient to nonsense.”
