Ghanaian comedian Richard Asante, widely recognized as Kalybos, recently discussed the reasons behind his breakup with his former girlfriend, Frimpongmaa, after a five-year relationship, during an episode of the Girls Aloud podcast.
Looking back on their time spent together, Kalybos expressed that although he valued their lengthy relationship, he ultimately understood that merely having time does not impose a duty to marry.
After evaluating the relationship, Kalybos realized it wasn’t progressing towards the future he envisioned, prompting the tough choice to separate.
“Being in a relationship for a longer period doesn’t mean you have to settle with the person no matter what,” he explained.
When a panelist inquired of Kalybos whether he married his current wife due to her financial status or her Diaspora heritage, he replied with straightforward sincerity. He recognized that his wife’s financial stability influenced his decision adding, “Yes, she’s a rich woman.”
Recently, Kalybos marked the first wedding anniversary with his wife, celebrating the milestone with a touching post on social media where he shared his happiness and appreciation for this new phase in his life.
