Guru Nkz, a rapper from Ghana, is urging parents to consider using DNA testing to combat the increasing problem of paternity fraud in Ghana.
During an interview on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, Guru emphasized the significance of getting DNA tests done promptly after a baby is born to verify the father’s biological connection.
Guru disclosed a personal story about being wrongly accused of fathering a child. He mentioned that these instances are growing more frequent and causing significant emotional and financial strains on families.
“Whether you are the father or mother, as soon as the child is born, request a DNA test to confirm the biological father,” he advised.
The stance of the hitmakers of “Boys Abrɛ” and “Lapaz Toyota” has caused a varied reaction on social media.
Some acknowledge the need for transparency, while others argue that DNA tests can be expensive, thereby making them out of reach for numerous families.
