DZATA CEMENT EXPOSES COUNTERFEIT OPERATION, ASSURES CUSTOMERS OF PRODUCT INTEGRITY

Leading cement manufacturer confirms arrest of fraudsters tampering with genuine bags; urges public to purchase from authorized dealers only.

Dzata Cement Limited has issued a public alert following the discovery of counterfeit cement bags circulating in the market, confirming that fraudsters have been tampering with genuine Dzata packaging to replace contents with inferior products.

In an official statement signed by Managing Director Nafisa Mahama, the company addressed a viral video showing allegedly compromised cement bags, clarifying that the products shown were not genuine Dzata Cement despite bearing the company’s packaging.

“The cement shown in that video is not genuine Dzata Cement,” the statement read. “Unfortunately, fraudsters have tampered with our packaging, opening genuine Dzata Cement bags, replacing the contents with inferior cement, and resealing them for resale.”

The company emphasized that counterfeiting and bag tampering represent an industry-wide challenge in Ghana’s construction sector, but highlighted their swift response: “With the support of law enforcement, the culprits have already been apprehended and investigations are ongoing.”

Dzata Cement assured customers that their production quality remains uncompromised, with every bag undergoing strict quality control at the factory. The company stressed that the issue stems from criminal tampering rather than any deficiency in their manufacturing process.

To protect consumers, Dzata Cement advised purchasing only from authorized distributors and retailers and reporting any suspicious or tampered bags to their hotline: +233 24 194 1846.

The company concluded by reaffirming its commitment to delivering high-quality cement while combating fraud that “hurts customers and the industry at large.”
