Ghanaian rapper Medikal addressed his widely publicized split with wife Fella Makafui in a candid interview with veteran comedian Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM).
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Medikal emphasized that he holds no resentment towards his ex-partner.
“I never expected all these things to happen. I wished for the best. But it didn’t go the way we planned. I’m not even going to blame her or myself. I believe we both made mistakes and couldn’t make things work out. But I don’t see her as an enemy, and I hope she doesn’t see me as an enemy as well,” he said.
Medikal highlighted that his main concern is the well-being of their daughter, stressing the importance of a positive co-parenting relationship.
“We have a beautiful daughter together. I want us to focus and take care of the child. I want to see her make it because if she makes it, my child will be happy. The more successful she becomes, the more that child gets access to anything she wants,” he added.
He praised Fella Makafui, calling her a great person and hardworking woman, and expressed his wish for her continued success, which he believes will benefit their daughter.
When asked about the possibility of a romantic reconciliation, Medikal firmly stated that it was not on the cards but reiterated his commitment to creating a supportive environment for their child.
“We coming back together as a couple? That’s never going to happen. I can assure you that, 100%. But at the same time, it’s an experience we both had. I’m not carrying any bad blood or something bad against her. I’m not blaming her and I’m not to be blamed as well… But we have a child together and I just want us to give the child a very bright and happy future,” he concluded.
Medikal also addressed rumors regarding his ex-partner Sister Derby’s appearance at his London show, clarifying that it was purely professional with no romantic implications.
