Former French ambassador to Ghana Anne Sophie Avé has recommended that the Nana Addo Danquah administration take into account issuing diplomatic passports to those musicians who have been promoting Ghana abroad through their music.
She emphasized in a tweet the important role these performers have played in promoting Ghana’s entertainment sector on a worldwide scale. She thinks it would be advantageous for the government to grant these people diplomatic passports.
Black Sherif, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, R2bees, and King Promise are a few of the artists she named. She claims that these musicians have performed well as Ghana’s ambassadors, outperforming the accomplishments of career diplomats in terms of promoting Ghana’s image around the world.
She is essentially honoring their contributions to Ghana’s reputation and her belief that granting them diplomatic passports will strengthen their responsibilities as ambassadors for the country in the global music industry.
