Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has lashed out at former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam over his comments regarding the controversial betting tax. The confrontation, captured in a video sighted by Nkonkonsa.com, has sparked a heated debate about the implementation and abolition of the tax, with Shatta Wale accusing the former minister of misleading Ghanaians.
The video shows Dr. Amin Adam addressing a gathering, where he claims that the betting tax, which the current government claims to have abolished, was never implemented in the first place. “Ladies and gentlemen, betting tax that they said they have abolished—we never collected betting tax. We never implemented the betting tax,” the former minister stated.
He went on to criticize the current administration, accusing them of deceiving Ghanaians by claiming to abolish a tax that was never enforced. “To come and tell Ghanaians that you have abolished something that was not implemented is to deceive the people of Ghana,” Dr. Adam added.
Shatta Wale, known for his outspoken nature, did not hold back in his response. In a post on social media, the musician called out the former minister’s statement with his trademark bluntness, shouting, “Hey hey hey, shut up there, liar! Judas”
