Actress Gloria Sarfo has criticized the absence of cohesion in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
She contends that the film industry has not experienced significant progress over the years since they do not advocate together for what they are entitled to.
The actress revealed this during her appearance on United Showbiz, a program on Accra-based United Television.
She stated that after the AMAA awards provided her and a few colleagues with fraudulent tickets and abandoned them at the airport, she has been the sole person criticizing the organizers of the award program.
The actress mentioned that she anticipated her peers would also speak up against the organizers, yet no one has voiced concerns about the mistreatment of Ghanaian actors and actresses.
“It was only Fella Makafui and James Gardiner who threw their weight behind me. If it were a Nigerian who this happened to, she would have had the support of the whole industry and it would have escalated the matter, but here I don’t know if they are protecting their brand or what. We are silent on this and I know they will do it to us again next time because they know Ghanaians won’t complain. The lack of unity in our industry is what has left us where we find ourselves,” she said.
