One of Ghana’s young highlife musicians, Akwasi Opoku, known in the music scene as Kwaisey Pee, says he is still single and searching for the right woman to marry.

The ‘Mehia Odo’ hitmaker claimed he has remained single for some time now because of bad experiences he has had with women, but now he is ready for a relationship.

The musician disclosed that being in a relationship posed some challenges to him because as a star every woman he dated expected so much from him, and when they did not meet their expectations, they felt cheated along the line, making it difficult to continue with the relationship.

“I am still single and trying to see if I can get into a proper relationship. I have somebody I am talking to, who knows, it might work out,” he told Nana Romeo, host of Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra FM last Friday.

The silky voice musician disclosed that his hit song titled ‘Mehia Odo’, which was released in 2007, was a personal message he was sending to the world.

He said although women make advances at him because he is a music star, he does not find it unusual since that happens a lot in the showbiz industry. Kwaisey Pee, however, explained that it is difficult to find genuine love because latter day relationships are all about money and material things.

He, therefore, advised women to look out for guys with genuine love and not material things for long lasting relationships.

Since joining the music industry, Kwaisey has proven, in no uncertain terms, that he reigns supreme among his contemporaries, and continues to make giant strides on the music scene through his creativity. Today, the name Kwaisey Pee has become a household name in Ghana. Kwaisey Pee said he kept his life relatively simple working behind closed doors because his fans were still expecting more from him.

Before becoming a professional musician, Kwaisey Pee had worked with bands like Jewel Ackah’s Butterfly Six and Nana Tuffour’s Sikadwa. He draws his inspiration from God and things around him, especially women.
