I CAN’T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I STEPPED FOOT IN CHURCH NOR READ THE BIBLE – Asamoah Gyan

Ghanaian player Asamoah Gyan takes great pride in the fact that he only practices Christianity “part-time” and hasn’t been inside a church in a very long time.

Despite the fact that Gyan has been away from the church—which many Christians view as the presence of God—for a considerable amount of time, he still regards himself as a true Christian and maintains that his actions are not sinful.

The former Black Stars skipper told Abeiku Santana on ATUU that he is open to hearing the gospel from anybody.

Gyan says he is being cautious because there are so many impostor churches.

He provided this knowledge when the host asked about his most recent church attendance.

“As Kofi Kinaata puts it, I am a part-time Christian. I was baptized in the Methodist Church, but I no longer go to church; I don’t. Now more than ever, they don’t speak the truth. Some of the churches don’t, however, the decision not to go to church doesn’t make you a bad person,” he said.

Asamoah Gyan furthered: “Yes, I am a Christian. I just don’t go to church. I pray; we all pray. I don’t remember the last time I read my Bible, but I am a true Christian. My mind is always hot. If you sit me down to preach God’s word, I will listen, but before then I need to analyze the person, especially when I know their lifestyle.”
